Hello,
we're Richard and Diane Burley from New Hampshire. We
accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior about 12 years ago.
We both thought that
we had done everything right in bringing up our family
and being pretty good people, but then we realized there
had always been something missing. That something was
a relationship with God and His Son Jesus Christ.
As we searched, we
realized there was nothing good about us and that we
were both sinners. It was then we surrendered our lives
to Christ and we haven't been the same since.
My wife and I were very
contented with the way our lives were going and the
growth we were experiencing at Center Barnstead Christian
Church. However, we found out that God has a way of
showing His children that He has other plans of contentment
for them.
In March of 2000 OAC
visited our church. Diane and I were so amazed with
how OAC presents the Gospel we thought it
would be fun to attend a one-day mission trip in Boston.
It was the best experience we could ever have asked
for.
Although our life was
very stable and we were content and happy with the way
things were, that one-day trip encouraged us so much
that we signed up for the summer training seminar. Diane
was unable to attend because of a sudden medical issue,
so I attended the seminar by myself. It was when I came
home and looked into my wife's eyes that we both knew
that our lives were not going to be the same.
It was confirmed later
as I continued to minister with OAC that if we
made ourselves available God would use us in the ministry.
We have committed ourselves to serve God until He comes
back or calls us home.
May God bless and enrich your life, the way He has us,
in serving Him.
